Nice little PSA from the good folks at T.E.A.R.T.S. The comments are illuminating.
I know a lot of cops that are bikers! So go ahead and go searching you dickwad! If you kill a cop the least of your worries will be the bikers.......If you think this is a joke your a sick M/F.............. airprtbridgeman
Your little video was booted off of MySpace for content, now let's see if you can get kicked off of here you little twit. Your style of thinking was shared by one other person in history that comes to mind.....Adolph I think his name was, and look what happened to him.cudaseeker
What the fuck is this shit?
This is the epitome of what it means to be anti-american. What happened to freedom of self expression? What happened to acceptance of alternative lifestyles?
This is Disgusting on so many different levels. You need to get out of this country and go somewhere nice and communist where anything outside of the norm is quietly extinguished. willowhawk

Get Him A Bodybag?
Written by Christopher Smith

This is not what it looks like.
Maybe it's just me, but when I saw this pic I jumped to a rather unsavory conclusion.
I emailed the Oshkosh Police Department and they assured me that the fire department was not sweeping up body parts.

Wylde on the Dolmette
Written by Christopher Smith
Friday, 04 April 2008 01:19
OK. So, this is a few years late. This first hit the web back in '04 but I had forgotten about it. I was looking for info on legendary axeman Zach Wylde (for a school diorama project due tomorrow! Mom!) and tripped into this beast. The bike - not the girl.
What you are looking at is a motorcycle powered by 24 Dolmar chainsaws daisy-chained, RAID-arrayed and spliced into a grotesque lumberjack/greaser hybridization. Where is your god now, indeed. From Wyldsyd:
The engine in question is the one used in the PS-7900 professional chainsaw, which currently boasts the best power-to-weight ratio of any professional petrol chainsaw in the world – just 1 kg per PS. In standard trim each of these high-performance air-cooled 79 cc units generates 4.6 kW of power (6.3 PS) at 9500 rpm. A specific output of 59 kW per liter is outstanding for a chainsaw, and the secret lies in DOLMAR’s High Performance Combustion (HPC) technology. This term refers to the special design of the six gas exchange ports in combination with the asymmetrical combustion chamber head and the crankcase configuration: the result is a highly efficient combustion cycle with low exhaust emissions.
Now, the interesting thing is how I found this bike while searching for a musician with a "wylde" spelling of his name. Of course, many of us remember a metal band with a "Y" in the spelling of their name; JACKYL. And, yes, Jackyl's big thing was the lead singer playing a CHAINSAW. Zach Wylde ---> Wyldsyd --> Jackyl. Does Tom Green ride a motorcycle?

Florida Police To Confiscate Habitual Speeders' Bikes
A bill to allow police officers to take bikers’ motorcycles is speeding along in Tallahassee. Under the bill, bikers caught going 30 miles of more over the speed limit three times could have their bikes confiscated. The bill was drafted to cut down on Motorcycle fatalities, but bikers say the bill would have the opposite effect.
“People are going to die, that’s the thing. If I know you’re going to take my bike, I ain’t stopping, more people are going to die,” said bike Robert Conroy.
Right on, Robbie! You fucking tell 'em! Yeah! Go Team!

Helmets Are Safe!
Written by Christopher Smith

Just a head's up everyone:
"When you wear a helmet, your safety is increased -- significantly," the trauma program manager at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital said. "The possibility and probability of suffering injury is very high in an accident without a helmet. Unlike in a car, you have no outer protector when you ride a motorcycle." SOURCE

Suzuki Crosscage Concept In Production
Written by Christopher Smith

From concept bike to the real road, the Suzuki Crosscage appears to be headed for production.
But this is more about hydrogen than anything. I thought I was up to speed on this stuff but apparently I missed something. I had no idea that there were "home hydrogen generation systems." Holy crap; that sounds dangerous.
This motorcycle was developed in conjunction with British Intelligent Energy, which make this a great collaboration since British Intelligent has its own hydrogen generation plants. Energy has a portfolio that includes a range of world-class fuel cell, fuel processing, desulphurization and hydrogen generation technologies. The company’s existing home hydrogen generation system means you’ll be able to make your own hydrogen at home. So I guess this news means you will find this motorcycle in the nearest showroom somewhere near the future. - SOURCE
Oh. The bike packs a walloping 125cc's according to this video.
Motorcycle Website Advertising 101
Written by Christopher Smith

The online advertising business is tricky. Basically it comes down to a quantity vs. quality issue. If you are at all interested in learning the online advertising basics, take a few moments to read this impressive rant/lesson from Cyril Huze. While focusing solely on the V-twin websites, the basic analysis applies to any interest. (Previously, too) And he was kind enough to list the top 17 V-twin websites and their traffic #s. Sadly, Motorcycles-OK.com is not appearing - yet.
Seems the way back in 1935, a few ambitious engineers and one crazed motorcyclists thought it'd be a good idea to custom build a motorcycle for one reason: attain a speed of 300mph.
300mph. In 1935.
My favorite part? Two steel plates, one on each side in front of the rear wheel, serve as brakes by actual contact with the ground or track. They can be raised or lowered by a lever.
Found at Modern Mechanix - an amazing compendium of all sorts of cool stuff; like this.

Why Are Ducatis So Expensive?
Written by Christopher Smith
Monday, 24 March 2008 03:02
There's a great debate going on over at Sportbikes.net. Basically, the question is: Why Are Ducati's (sic) So Expensive? Of course, you have some folks touting performance, others swearing reliability (?) and all the usual fan-boy standards.
One guy nails the real reason. "I think a ducati would pull more girls..." - NAPALM

Monocycle: A Couple Letters Off
Written by Christopher Smith
Monday, 24 March 2008 03:49
File this under "Close Enough."
The hash-addled Dutch have come up with a revolutionary mode of transportation called The WTF: TheBig Round Thing With An Engine. Actually, the real name is The Motorized Monocycle. Sporting a 31cc, four-stroke 1 1/2-hp engine, this ultra-modern cycle won't be leaving smoke but at least it will run for a couple hours on a half-tank of gas. You've got to weight in at over 110lbs to operate the Wonder Wheel and the weight limit maxes out at 275lbs. Brake and gas controls are on the handle bars. Max Speed: 25mph. Max Benefit: Unclear. Buy one? Sure.
(Editor's note: I cannot believe that I can't find video of Richard Pryor's awesome Wonder Wheel scene from The Toy)

Dodge and weave

Monday, 24 March 2008 02:25
Interestingly enough, this clip was found at a place called 'Helpfulvideo.com'.
Of course, 'helpful' can be relative. I'm guessing these guys are 'helping' you to kill yourself in a super-bitchin' manner at silly-fast speeds. And I wonder why I get so many news alerts about bikers getting killed on the road.
Fast forward to about 2:30 and watch some crazy two-lane twisty madness. And someone get these guys a decent camera. If they are going to be taking risks like this, the least they could do is bump up the production values a bit.
Slaytona

It’s being called SLAYTONA and it is the largest (ever?) organized motorcycle event inside the perversely awesome virtual world of Second Life. Seems that there is a race of some sort, a custom bike show, live music, raffles and...mud wrestling? This fellow has a schedule of events. Of course, you can’t go unless you are a resident of Second Life.
